- Join our Parks/Community Center Committee
We have 3 sub-committees: Building and Design, Programs and Research, and Grants/Fundraising. Meeting are held locally and in the evening around 7pm. Members will be notified in advance with all the information necessary. - Help out at our Sensational Recreational Youth Programs. Chaperones always needed, help supervise an activity. Lend a hand and be a craft helper, an activity greeter, storyteller, set up for an activity, clean up, etc...
- Code Enforcement
- Neighborhood Watch, Block Captains needed.
- Help out at our Special Events held at the Central Islip Civic Council and locally throughout the Central Islip community.
- Help out in our Thrift Shop, organize donations, set up store, assist customers...
- Lend a hand in our Garden, light weeding, raking, seasonal planting, harvesting etc…
- We offer Central Islip High School graduating seniors the opportunity to complete their community service requirement here at the Central Islip Civic Council. We are in walking distance from the High School.
Wish List
New and gently used items i.e.: small household furniture & appliances, household knick knacks, clean clothing for men, women & children, linens, curtains, toys, all types of art & crafts supplies... Items donated will be used in our Thrift Store and proceeds will go to fund our Food Pantry Program. We continue to serve over 3,000 local families each year.
All monetary donations help to continue running programs offered by the Central Islip Civic Council i.e. Free Special Community Events, Free Recreational Activities for Youth and Families, Purchases of Food for our Food Pantry, Holiday Tree Lighting Event and much more…

Our office is located at 68 Wheeler Road, CI, NY 11722 (between W. Halley Lane and Linda Lane, entrance is in the back) If your group, club, troop, pack, PTA, School… is interested in having a "Food Drive" for us please give us a call. We are in need of food donations year round and would appreciate all the help you can lend.
